oh my, this could get long winded. well I first got into film and old polaroids after my mother gave me some old cameras that belonged to my grandfather. they looked cool, so I started playing with them. then really just started looking at other artists around the internet for inspiration. there are so many people out there doing some really neat stuff.
other than that, as lame as it may sound, life and my surroundings in general inspire me more than anything. just look for something beautiful and interesting everywhere you go, it’ll be there.
I just came across your tumblr today and am in love with your simple yet elegant polaroids and started following immediately. If you ever have the time, venture across mine? It's just a bunch of music and songs that maybe will strike your interest? Anywho's, thanks for your lovely posts :)
Hi, I'd first like to say that I really enjoy your blog. I just started "tumbling," and I swear it's only by coincidence that I use the same layout as you. But anyway, I just got into film photography (photography in its entirety, actually). I bought an old Minolta XG7 and I'm kinda just learning through trial-and-error. I really enjoy your photography, so I was just wondering how you got started. Do you think its better to learn by doing? Or to take a class?
honestly I’ve never taken a class in my life, but that’s mostly due to the fact that I can’t afford to. I think that just shooting everyday and trying out new styles and techniques is a wonderful thing to do. if you always have a camera on you, you’ll pick up things pretty quickly. best of luck, and thank you for the compliment!
“I believe in maniacs. I believe in type As. I believe that you’ve got to love your work so much that it is all you want to do. I believe you must betray your mistress for your work, you betray your wife for your work; I believe that she must betray you for her work. I believe that work is the one thing in the world that never betrays you, that lasts. If I were going to be a politician, if I were going to be a scientist, I would do it every day. I wouldn’t wait for Monday. I don’t believe in weekends.
If you’re headed for a life that’s only involved with making money and that you hope for satisfaction somewhere else, you’re headed for a lot of trouble. And whatever replaces vodka when you’re 45 is what you’re going to be doing.
hi! I just want to tell you that your job and photos're amazing, maybe you can check out my tumblr one time and let me know what do u think! it isn't great as your's but i'm improving, i hope at least :)
sorry for my bad english, i'm italian so..that's it ! thanks :)
well I don’t have a job right now, at all :(
but thank you so much for the photo complement! your photos are very pretty, but I did have a bit of a hard time trying to navigate your page. :/
when i scan my pictures, i get these lines that go across the picture, any idea why that is and how i can fix it?
hrrmmmm, not to sure about that one! if it’s an old scanner, i’d say that would be the problem. if you’re scanning in a lot of your own photos, I would invest in a good scanner, like an Epson V500 or V700.
otherwise, I’m really not too sure why you would be getting those. sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance! hope that helps anyway :)
This isn't a question - just dropping a small note to say I love your blog. The pictures are the kinds I'd love to take, but don't. I just reblogged my first picture, and though its a weird inclusion on my page, and feels oddly like an invasion of something personal, I hope you don't mind if I do reblog.
Again, great pictures, great blog, its my regular stop-by.
don’t mind at all. thank you for the kind words :)
